5 months and 32,258 miles later

I've had my truck for almost 5 months and now have over 32,000 miles and here is my updated report. This is an awesome truck. I still smile every time I drive it. I have had one problem at just over 30,000 miles. One bad injector. It was quickly replaced by local dealer and it purrs like a kitten again. Other than that, it has been great. I've got two dents in the box so this winter, the box is coming off and a flatbed is going on. A friend of mine called me yesterday and he's got 34,000 miles on his and he's had it one month less than me. He raced his brother, who has an '03 F-250 6.0 PSD auto, with his 6-speed and won 4 times in a row. Never thought I would see a 6-speed beat an auto. My truck has done everything I've asked of it; towing very heavy loads, muddy meadow 4wd situations, highway cruising, everything. In a word: PERFECT!

You and I have had our trucks about the same amount of time, and I have 5800 miles on mine. You have put more on your truck in 5 months than I will in two years!

And, I too would like to know your bad injector symptom.

The first symptom was hard starting. I mean, it was like starting a PowerStroke - crank, crank, crank, crank, crank, start. Sometimes stumbling on startup. Then a knock began when accelerating and it went away at cruising speed. The third symptom was heavy black smoke when accelerating under almost all conditions. The truck was still drivable, and I did drive it but just took it easy. Dropped it off at the dealer's in the morning and they pinpointed it and had it going by 2:00pm that afternoon. 33,500 miles on it now and she's running fantastic. No other problems to report. I love this truck.

I just past 30K on my 04 and did my service last night. Got the truck in December. Oil, fuel, grease, air cleaner clean, and tire rotation. I put an indicator on the ball joints and am a little disappointed. The truck has just been awesome and I love driving it. Has not been back to the shop a single time but I am going to call the dealer before the warranty runs out on the suspension. I found .028" movement on the drivers side and the passenger side had .024". Not much to complain about compaired to the Ford guys but still a hassle. We'll see what the dealer has to say.

Almost 40k on mine. The only problem so far is the driveline vibration that's there at 65-70 with the tranny in neutral and the motor at idle or in gear and running at speed. It's not motor.
