Welllllll, for thos following this thread, my salesman was going to switch my gear ratio to 4.10 last week, right on the verge of my truck going D1 status (D1 - NO CHANGES) He didn't make it in time. Yesterday he called and suggested we just order a second truck, the only change being the 4.10 gears. This dealership moves a lot of Dodge trucks here in North Texas. Matter of fact, they also sell Fords and despite what is going on nationally, the Cummins outsells the Powerstroke at this dealership.

I told him to go ahead and order the second truck and this morning he phoned back to report that it had already gone into D status and should go D1 before the end of the week!

For those of you waiting on the dealer to get available allocation, you may want to find a high volume dealer in your area.

Odie,

I'm in the same boat .

Called DC again and they have no update from 1/20/04.

Then can not even tell me if the rail car arrvived in Veracruz!

They did tell me that the average delivery time to my "zone" was 19 days. My fleet company still says 2/17.

19 days from when? DC does 'nt even know where their inventory is! That's sad!!! I would have flown to the factory myself and driven it home. I figure I would have already had it 4 weeks and a nice break in trip

Thanks for the reply. I just keep reading threads on how guys were tracking their trucks hourly ,by rail. I don't think it would have been so bad, but, on Jan 5th Dc told me that I "should" have my vehicle in about 2 or 3 weeks.
How's the weather in paradise?

odie,
Mine was built on 5 Jan and shipped on 7 Jan. At first DC thought the boat set sail from Veracruz on the 21st, but later found it was delayed a week. It left on the 28th, and ported in Baltimore on 4 Feb. Now the dealer has joined a number of others in beating up on the district rep to find out why nothing sent via boat is being delivered. This dealer's waiting on 6 trucks; imagine the $$$ they had to lay out with no idea when they'll get something to sell. Don't suppose DC cares one iota since they got their $$, and the longer it takes to ship the longer they get to hold the holdbback money owed to the dealer...

That's pretty cool, TexasZach. You lost almost NO time, maybe a week, by ordering the second truck.

Mine was D1 as of las Thursday, so it is probably on the assembly line as we speak - ship date next Wednesday, 2/18.

Of course, then it has to come by boat, wagon, and horse-drawn carriage to get here to the East Coast., takes about 3-4 weeks, so I should have it by mid March.

I second the large dealers. You guys with no build dates - get your deposits back, and find another dealer with the allocation.

Dealer size means nothing.

http://www.donsautoclinic.com/
This is the web site of my dealer. They are not big movers of Dodge trucks YET , they are a new in Oct. dealer. I have a ship date on my truck already. I believe that the truck orders that come into the factory with a customers name attached to the order will have their truck built before any trucks are built for invetory are, Your truck will arrive with built for YOUR NAME on the window sticker fact sheet. That is the way products are built at GM these days, sold stuff first then for invetory stuff. This isn't 1960 any more. It is after they have your money that they forget who you are in most cases.
Al

ordered 2004.5 325/600, 6spd 3500slt, srw, lb, 373 anti slip, tow group, tow mirrors and a couple other do dads.
