I tried the UPPR site, and it worked.

Apparently, my truck is going by RAIL??

Heres what it says for my railcar number:

Results
Equipment ID L/E Billed Event Road Location Date/Time Destination

TTGX159899 Load Yes Interchange Delivered CSXT Neworlean, LA 03/08/04 16:58 Dixiana, SC

I guess my truck is coming up the coast. No boat. What is interesting, is I helped my salesperson out with ANOTHER truck he has on order for a customer, released the same day as mine.

THAT railcar is going up through Illinois, and over to New Jersuy. ***?

Are you serious??? I wonder how many others are doing the same. That may explain why my port arrival date keeps changing.

Would it be safe to say mine is also coming via rail??? What is your final rail destination?

I remember my dealer saying they no longer ship via boat because of the December dissaster. He seemed shocked when I told him its going via boat (at least according to Insight a few weeks back). Now...who really knows.

It would *seem*?? that mine is coming by rail, as my salesperson had a railcar number, and KZM status. THAT would explain why Insight shows me as "railcar loaded" on 2/27, and why the Port info keeps disappearing. It was never PUT on a boat, but is coming by rail. I guess right now it is on its way to South Carolina.

One thing for sure, ain't no way it's going to be to the dealer by 3/24. Again, obviously, my salesperson had access to a different system than Insight, to get that number.

Call your dealer. See if he can get you a number.

On edit: I looked at the Union Pacific map, and and their routes don't go to South Carolina? So how can that car be headed there?

I assume on a different carrier, but which one?

Second edit: DUH! When I look at that railcar trace, it shows "CSXT" in New Orleans. So, I went to the CSX train site, but you can't track there unless you're signed on as a business partner. So, from here, I guess I'm blind.

OK, here it is in a nutshell. My truck is not only in, I've got possession of it as this is being typed. Starting a thread after posting here.

Jarmar.... Salesman screwed the pooch on the additional $1,000 rebate for March. He spoke without doing enough research, it's only for the gas engine Rams, diesels are not included.

OK, initial impressions coming up in a new thread.

I'm VERY jealous! Congratulations! That was what - 5 weeks??

I called the CSX tracking 800 number - 1-800-235-2352, and input the railcar number.

It arrived last night, 3/10, in Greenwood SC. So, that's where my truck is at the moment. There was no further information available.

Well, we're getting somewhere.

Glad to see somone is getting somewhere. I called DC again. They said mine is also going by rail and not by boat. I guess that is why Insight is all screwed up. He couldn't give me a tracking number though. He said (on his own I didn't ask him) that their computers only get updates about once a day and I should call back Monday for an update.

I was going to call my dealer to see if he had info, but he's not in today.

Your salesman should be able to get you a railcar number. Then, plug that into the UP site, or call the CSX number. I betch yours and mine might be on the same train. Somewhere right now in South Carolina.

Of course, the bad news is that they were supposed to be in Baltimore by now. I figure, what another week-10 days to get up here, then another week to the dealer? Could be looking at another 3 weeks.

My truck was delivered to the dealer this afternoon.

Unfortunately I will not be able to pick it up until Weds. afternoon. I have to go out of town on business, but at least it is here.

Well, it looks at least there are some happy people here now that their trucks have arrived. Congrats to all!

Wexman, at least now you have some idea on what's going on. I assume you're a lot closer to getting your's than I am. I will have to call my dealer tomorrow and ask if perhaps they have different (ie better) information than the website.

c172driver, when I ordered, I had an estimated ship date of 2/23 with arrival at my dealer two weeks later. I should be enjoying my new Ram right now. I hope you have better luck with your's than myself and others have had.
