Final Destination!!

Well my truck is here...sort of. It's in Winston-Salem, which is where I live, but not due to the dealership until 3/25!! I would think they'll get it there maybe a couple of days early???

Anyway, 8 days from Saltillo to Winston-Salem, NC.

In my mind I think I could go down the road to the rail yard and peek through a chain link fence and see my shiny (yet dirty) new truck. But, I know that there are probably a few hundred different vehicles there, and I probably can't even get close enough to see.

Well, like Scott, I ordered from the dealer January 17. I can wait a couple more weeks.

Njtackle.
My truck came home by rail. total time from mex to california was4-5 days but it sat in the rail yard 5 miles away from final destination due to some sort of delay, I still don't know what that was all about but when it finally arirved at the drop facility it took 5 more days to get to the dealer.
About the GPS. I cant tell you anything about it because the system keeped rejecting the GPS CD it's just a $700 radio for now but the dealer ordered a new set of CD to try. everything else works fine I love this truck already!

This I don't know. I'm going to attempt the CSX 800 line later today to see where the car is going from South Carolina. At this point, I'm not even bothering with Insight, as that information is moot.

DCornelli, congrats! You're sooooo close.

I'll update later with anything I can find out.

My dealer offered to guarantee the rebate amount in effect when I ordered or give if the current incentive available at delivery was higher I would get that. I had them note this in writing on the order sheet.

Automated message was no different from yesterday. It was in Greenwood SC as of Wed night, they have "no further information, ETA ir ETI" (whatever ETI is).

I hope it's not sitting on some side track somewhere. NEXT time, I buy off the lot, since I got an automatic this time, and I am not picky about color. Two large dealers around me had some of these in stock, with the oprtions I wanted, in Feb that I could have bought one, be driving it for a month now, and not gone through this BS.

Oh well, wait some more.

True. But, you're gonna get EXACTLY the truck you want this way - no settling and no regrets. In a couple of months you'll forget about the wait and just brag about passing all those DAs and PSDs. Hang in there. Your day will come . . .

Went to the dealer, Hill-Kelly Dodge, in Pensacola, FL on 20 Feb and ordered. Just pulled up Insight information and got this. So far so good. I feel for you guys that are having problems. I've been through that with another company whose name I won't mention but their initials are Chevrolet. One reason, among others, I will never go back to them even to order a Matchbox car. Good luck to everyone on their order.

I guess I shouldn't feel too bad. I check the VIN for a truck that was KZ a FULL month before mine (actually, the day after I ORDERED mine) - it STILL hasn't arrived. It's on a ship. Its ETA is the same as mine.

I figure that guy probably ordered late December. So, he's almost 3 months now.

NJTackle, I believe could be. I was just going around the CSX yard map on their website. Click on "automotive", and it shows all their automotive yards in their system.

It shows "Dixiana", near Greenwood, SC, where my railcar supposedly currently is. I clicked on "Curtis Bay" in Maryland, and the address is Port Baltimore, MD, so that is indeed the port. Chrysler was listed as one of the "inbound" clients. Just for kicks, I clicked on PA, and, lo and behold, CSX has a yard right here in Aston, PA, near Philadelphia Airport, not far from where I live (20 miles). One of the inbound clients is Chyrsler. So, it's possible my truck could come right here.

As I stated in the above post, I'm not holding my breath. When I checked my dealers Insight listing, out of 13 3500s inbound, 11 are sold orders, and 2 were KZ a full month before me - and they're not there yet. All show an ETA of 3/25 (and all tick up one day, each day) So, I might still have a while yet. Yikes.

Ok, what is up with this? Every day my delivery date is being pushed back..all I'm seeing is that it was "Rail car released 3-03". Next line down says Port Arrival New Jersey. That date has not changed, still 3-15...BUT the delivery date to dealer changes day for day...Is my truck on a boat, rail car or sitting idle someplace? In the last three days, my delivery date has moved up you guessed it...three days. It appears that my tracking ability has entered a black hole..not info from "rail car released" until it hits NJ..This is bad....thanks again for the emotional support, I can feel the love

I'm in EXACTLY the same black hole. My railcar was in South Carolina as of Wed 3/10, after that "no further information available". Don't know if it's moving or idle.

I get a strange feeling we're all going to get our trucks around the same time. When it rains, it pours!

(Hope I'm not wrong on this one)

Well you may yet. WOOOOOOHOOOOOO! I just checked Insight and it went KZ Plant Release yesterday 3/11. Sweet. I'm so happy now; that has really made my day. Plus, it looks like it wwas built on a Thursday so that's good news. ETA is 4/1. I'm sure that will slip at least a week so I'm figuring second week of April.
