06 CTDs - How much?

My brother is about to order an 06 3500 Crew Cab SB 4x4. This is because there seem to be no shortbed 3500s to be found on dealer lots.

How much can he get one for (relative to invoice or window)? For example, I bought my 04.5 for invoice less $2500 less Farm Bureau discount.

Now that I think of it, does the Farm Bureau discount still exist?

One last question . . . I know the 05 auto does not lock out OD in Tow/Haul. Did they change (fix) this for the 06 models? I thought I read that somewhere, but I'd like to be sure of that.

Yes you can lock out OD on the 06's.

When I got my 3500 it was 1 of 2 on dealer lots in the state for what I wanted, I paid $1500 over invoice but there are lots who are paying invoice -rebates...

I just picked up mu 06' Tuesday, 3500 QC 4x4 SLT Longbed...invoice minus $500, then $3500 in rebates, and 3 year/ 36000mi. Free maintenance...yes free oil changes in a diesel...woohoo. Traded a 97' CC 4x4 lariat Powerstroke...they gave $13,000...book was only $9800...I frowned, signed my name and tiptoed out quietly...yes I was happy.

Still grinning today, had a line-x sprayed and put in a weathergaurd jumbo crossbox ...

I wonder if they're still offering the $1500 rebate if you finance the truck. I did that and plan on paying it off in 90 days...

BTW my 06 4x4 SLT Big Horn Series was right around $34K, looks like everyone is getting decent deals......

I did the same thing when I purchased my '05. But you don't have to wait 90 days to pay it off like the dealers are told. Call Chrysler Financial ASAP to get the "payoff amount" (amount borrowed plus interest to date), cut them a check and pocket even more of the rebate! I did this at about the 30 day point when the first statement arrived and noticed it listed a payoff amount, but you don't even have to wait that long.

There is another post like this over in the other forum. I was planning to order soon for tom chaney, but from what I read over there I guess he is gone. I don't think I can come close to getting a deal like he had any place else. Just waited to long, so I guess no new cummins for me. Where are the best deals at?
