Question 04.5 dodge front door seals or [gaskets]

Hey guys never posted on this non driveline section, anyone else noticed their door seals tearing real bad just in one spot too. Its by the windshield , when closing the door it rubs the seal really bad like the door needs adj , but the body lines from the door to the hood look correct? thanks

there is a tsb on them. don't have the number handy-but a search should do it for you- or go over to genosgarage.com-they should have the tsb number listed.

My 05 lasted 9 months berfore it gave way. Dealer replaced, the new ones are a little different so the edge of the door does not rub it.

Man guys i didnt exp. answers like this. This is good news i was wondering where i was going to find them. And this is something that they will do for FREE! Truck now has 61,000 miles even though its past the 36,000 mark you think they will replace them anyway. Is a tsb the same as a recall? Thanks so much for the great information!

The TSB may or may not be covered...not the same as a safety recall.
Depends on the dealer.
I had mine done while still under warranty.
The good news, from what I have read, is that they are not very exspensive and easy to install.

Mine did this also but I was outside of my warranty. It does not leak from this it is just a poor design. I cut the little flap off with scissors and will replace it someday when needed. I spoke with the dealer when I had about 65k and was told it would not be covered past 36k. I chose to leave it alone. On the other post it shows $60 to purchase the updated style.

Mine are shot on both side of both trucks I have had. The 1500 laster much longer. The 3500 went real early. Need to get them replaced before winter.

mine ripped at 37k! figures....
so i called the dealer today and they said they wouldnt do it for free, but would i like a $39.95 oil change? yeah right

so the parts department looked up the p/n i got from the genos link to the tsb, they had 1 in stock for $19.95.
where did the $60 from above come from? they giving me the wrong seal?

Thumbs up Hope this helps

The part #'s of 55277190 AB for passenger and 55277191 AB for driver are correct. The good news is that these are the most up to date you can get. They are the same as production 06 and later which are great because the don't snag, yet they have the puffy upper part that keeps out the wind noise. It goes flat before the part that would have snagged so these won't get touched by the door. Current Chrysler MSRP is less.
