Door seals

Is anyone having problems with the rubber door seals being rubbed, broken or having holes in them from opening and closing the front doors on the 2003? A friend pointed out that his seals were deteriorating. He does a lot of stop and go driving and opening his doors a lot. His seals have holes in them when opening and closing the doors. If you will stand at the area near the windshield and observe the door opening and closing you can see that it rubs the area severely. Could you check this area and give us a report. The person stated something about a recall to replace the seals with a small one that does not rub. Has anyone heard anything about that? Thanks

Re:Door seals

I have it on the drivers door of my 1500.I have pointed it out to my dealer and decided to wait awhile before the replace it so it doesn't just have the same thing happen again.

It will also happen on the passenger side if it is used as much as the drivers. I was told by an individual that they are developing new seals to solve the problem. Don't know it that is true. The rear doors seem ok.

Re:Door seals

Try spraying some Silicone (the clear type - not the foam) on the rubber seals every other month or so. It will make the rubber more plyable, last longer, and will stop the annoying "Rubber Squeak" when you open and close the doors....
