H&S programmer question

H&S programmer question
My programmer bit the dust. I'm wanting to purchase a H&S Mini Maxx. Do I have to go to a dealer and have the truck flashed back to stock before I can install a new programmer ? If so , will a dealership do this with my truck having the EGR and DPF deletes ? Can a performance shop do the flash ?

what was your old programmer? If its an H&S you should be alright, good luck getting a new mini maxx that's delete capable without jumping through a lot of hoops to pull it off...

Boss just deleted his 08 this week, I was surprised the mini-maxx took care of the programming, but who knows how long the shop had it on the shelf, too?

My old one is the H&S XRT. I updated , or attempted to but it says memory full. I'm back to square 1 !!! I'm going to take it to my local diesel performance shop to see if they can do anything with it.

Does it use an SDCard like the black maxx and mini maxx? Maybe you need to format it and reload the programs?

Open it up to see if there is a backup battery in it. The black maxx and possibly the mini has a battery. I think a CR2025. If there is a battery, remove it for a few minutes and replace it with a new one.... May or may not work. Before taking it to a shop, why not call H&S to see what they have to say first?
The problem with taking it to a dealer without returning to stock first, they can reprogram the ECM, but you will more than likely be unable to use your XRT if you got it working again. Unless a performance shop has the Chrysler WITECH tool, about the only thing Chrysler allows shops to reprogram is emissions related updates. As for loading a mini maxx, the program is different than the XRT so it may or may not work. It will work if the dealer reprograms the ECM.

I'm familiar with the Mini maxx but not the XRT pro. I would NOT take it to the dealer before talking to H&S as 6.7L mega suggested, H&S are very good customer service wise, it could be a "one shot deal" so let them guide you in the right direction, email or phone works.
