Does anybody know if you can unlock a vin locked smarty? I have one that is locked but need to unlock it as the truck its locked to is nowhere to be found. I haven't paid for it yet so I haven't wasted any money on it but its cheap if I can unlock it somehow.

No! You cannot unlock it. You must have the truck it is vin licked to and program it back to stock. Or have the ECM from that truck and send it and the programmer to Smarty in order for them to perform the process.

What you have or would be purchasing is a paperweight or code reader at best. The folks at Smarty know that many of the vin locked programmers are stolen and the no unlock policy keeps the nonsense to a minimum.

That's what I thought I just thought id ask but ya im gonna give this thing back its junk to me.

Waste of time since you are doing deletes....

Even if you could talk them into re-flashing it, they would NEVER ship one out with delete capable firmware in it so the re=flash would NOT accept delete software.

If I were a EPA guy trying to set them up, I would ask them to fix one that is locked so I could catch them sending out a delete capable product....They ain't stupid so NO way is one leaving the property delete capable
