did my deletes at 32k, at 28k took my truck in for warranty inspection at their request on the tie rods and steering dampener. The guy saw my Mag-hytec tranny pan and told me he was going to put me in the computer as having a "modified" truck with a voided warrant from that point on. WEll I didn't look back. I did have the death wobble a while back and put on the factory "upgrade" kit. Apparently they didn't do a recall on the 2008's but they did on a lot of the other years as the tie rods and track bar are pitiful small. New stuff is BEEFY. Apparently 2 more quarts of transmission fluid is bad, itty bitty tie rods is good. I took the old tie rods to the dealer and left them in the floor in the shop and said thanks.

sounds like a really good reason to find a new dealer to work with if he will void your warranty to a trans pan........

yeah, unfortunately it's the only dealership in 60 miles and from what I'm told once they tag the vehicle as modified all dealers get the same message and have to adhere to the void. I've learned a lot from the forums, used to turn a wrench building airplanes, so I haven't worried about it much. found a local diesel repair shop that has a couple guys just itchin to do some more mods, we kinda learn together.

EGR removal?

What gains, economy and performance could I expect or even see if I use an H&S Minimax and just do the EGR and leave the exhaust as is? Can I even do this? Also with the EGR, if I replace that stuff with a horn, GDP heater, and larger tubes, what effect will this have?
I live in Vanc, Canada and apparantly there is mobile Opacity (did I spell that right) inspections. I bought a Minimax because of the EPA thing, but have yet to do anything with it. Trying to figure my best move. I don"t want black smoke. Finances is an issue.
Also, what about EFI live?
Thanks in advance.

with the inspections you guys have up there you have to be very careful and putting stuff back on for just the inspection is a rea PITA. I don't think you can even do the EGR and pass inspection. I lived in Washington state for awhile, communist liberal tree hugging parasitical organisms in a group if ever there was one. They have inspections every two years and really crawl up your tail pipe. I doubt you would see anything more than a big ticket if you start deleting stuff. The DAY I finally got moved back out in the country I pulled the pipe, the dpf which dumps particulate into your crankcase after it burns it. Recently stripped the CCV filter out and ran the overflow down under the chassis instead of hooked up to pump directly into the intake for the turbo," makes ya wonder why the turbo fails so soon, eh". As far as best move to do I might Email or call H&S, they are great to work with. I have no experience with EFI tuners. you are doing the right thing first, "research and ask questions".

I live in CA and have a Smarty on SW3 with the basic minimal stealth deletes of the EGR and DPF/NOX. The trucks will pass these smoke tests just fine with the Programmer and all the deletes in place... Only problem is the visual inspection of the hardware. I had to put my stuff back to stock just to pass visual. Otherwise, the trucks pass the tests just fine...

In WA they would put a sensor up your pipe and crawl around under the hood. I heard some guys had to reprogram after inspections as their software screwed stuff up and made the truck run rough. I'm just GLAD to out in the country where the truck can run free! But now The Kenyan has put two bills into congress that are going to make it **** hard on diesel anythings. He is proposing a tax on a diesel like you would pay on annually on a full military WWII tripod 30 cal. Then a bigger tax on any diesel fuel. And it's going to be even higher in the state of CA, I know at least 20 truckers that are moving or moved out of CA as they almost can't make ends meet due to regulations. Viva la revolution

Can I delete the cooler, swap out thr Egr for a horn and leave the exhaust as is to pass inspections? Does this make sense? I'm still learning? Should I get maxx calibration and trans OD before too late like I just read EFI stopped in the US?....help

Im just saying this as an "untested theory"

would it be possible to take the EGR valve off of you intake horn, put a solid steel plate in between the EGR valve and the intake horn, when the valve was told to open there would be a dead end in the EGR crossover system right there and it would render the system as useless as a diet cruton........... no programmer required?

please feel free to tell me if it wouldnt work but that idea has been rolling around in my head for a while now

I live in Washington state on the western side with all the emissions testing, bought my 07.5 new and at 35K deleted everything. Went through emissions running a 5" from the turbo back and the H&S XRT at just under 85K miles, and passed emissions. During the test I snap throttled the engine, making sure that as soon as I hit 25 hundred RPM that I was off it. Truck never smoked and the tech mentioned that I was sure getting off it early, I replied that all I had to do was hit 2500 per their requirements.
I did the delete because at 28K Dodge had to pull my exhaust filters off and clean them, that was after taking the truck in more then 10 times for engine lights. Never went back to the dealer for anything after that.

Oh yeah, guess I should update my signature below one of these days, lol.

2 years ago I moved from the Tacoma area, the dealer had a recall check on the front tie rods being too small, they said that was okay but saw my Mag-hytec tranny pan and put me in the system as a "MODIFIED VEHICLE" and then told me my warranty was voided. 10 days after moving to Colorado I installed a Black Maxx and did the deletes. The engine light hasn't come on since, fuel mileage doubled, tows like a mountain goat, and when death wobble commenced I took the tie rods and track bar that were for a half ton not a one ton back to my dealer and deposited them on the door by the after hours slot with a note explaining. THIS dealer reimbursed me for the $700 I layed out for the "upgrade kit" for the 2008. By the way, I lived in WA for 26 years, never really liked it there.

Hi, I need some help. I also posted in the emergency forum. Under dpf delete help. Anyways here is a quick summary. My truck quit running, do to catalyst full. I took off my dpf filter and cleaned it out. put it back on. attached all the sensors. downloaded a dpf delete program onto my smarty jr me. did the ecm updates, torque and pod changes. Fired it up and it ran great. did a 1.5 hr. round trip. 25-30 mpg awesome. then the catalyst full came back on. read your post. I took off the pressure sensors, but not the other sensors. Still getting the cat full. But it doesn't show up on the smarty.
Do I need to take all the sensors off. Or is there something else I am missing that I need to do. Can I leave the nox filter and cat on and just do the pdf and then do the egr at a later date? Please help.

Read the insturction on the MADs site for the Smarty JR/SR ME. Delete the NOX and DPF filters with a delete pipe (you can leave the CAT) or gut both yours that you have (not recommended) and disable the EGR and disconnect what it says for all connection areas. It really is simple and easy to do this way.

You've gotta get those filters off of your truck, NOW.
You're gonna plug them up super quick with a delete tune.
Pick up a dpf delete pipe and get them off!
Then follow these directions to the T!!!
