What type of boost pressure are you guys seeing with these new 6.7 engines? It seems a bit low to me, I see anywhere from 5-7 Psi cruising down the road at 70 MPH.

I know that these are not the old 5.9, but I always saw 3-5 Psi more on my old 5.9 at the same speed that I am runing at now with my 6.7. The power is there, I just feel that I should see more boost pressure.

 

Im usually see around 7 to 9 when on cruise. When playing back and forth light throttle, 10 to 14ish. WOT peaks at 36ish.

 

Thank you for the reply, I am still a bit miffed at the lower boost pressure on these newer engines.

 

I suppose it's just more precise control with it being a variable turbo. Since the turbo can act as many different sizes it can be more efficient.

I think its a fuction of the VGT. It can open the exhaust housing and lower the boost, meaning better mpgs (in theory).

 

That makes sense to me did not take into account the VGT on these newer engines.

Thanks for everones input, I will just drive the thing and enjoy it for now.
