07.5 6.7 problems

Posting for a friend that does not get on here that has this problem.
i am growing tired of the check engine lights, on again off again diesel mileage and etc. thinking about going all in on a turbo back dpf delete and tuner. could do it myself, but i drive this thing alot every day. i heard the dodge exhaust systems are junk. i know i am chunking my warranty by doing this, but its this or losing my butt and buying something else. i am tired of the bugs, what can I do to solve this?

Get a 5.9 turbo back exhaust (direct fit) and the Smarty 6.7 tuner for the deletes. Be forewarned, there is a date in 08 (June or July?) where the ECM is locked down, but they are working on it.

I just unplugged my egr, it throws a soft code, but my non-towing mileage is up about 3.5 mpg, city and highway. No other issues.

I do believe that March 09 is the date you have to worry about on the ecm. But as previously stated get the 5.9 exhaust, smarty and do it right with the egr cooler delete. Not one problem here and i never seen a code yet. Also keep in mind when you take the exhaust off of the truck you do have to drop a crossmember then the elbow will come off.

It's definately all March '09 and later ECM's BUT some update flashes have stuck the dreaded "bootloader" package into ECMs of other model years. Best to have a friend with a S67 try to load into your ECM to verify it can. If not it will stop and let you know before it causes damage.

So trying to load a Smarty into a March of '09 truck won't hurt anything if it has the bootloader? Cause my truck was built in that year and want to do the deletes soon. Was gonna try my brothers Smarty to see if it would load up. Thanks.

Check the Mads website to be certain, but I'm pretty sure it will stop and not load. That way no issue to the ECM's infected with "bootloader".

Im with Chris, I remember seeing somewhere that if the ECM is lock the Smarty will give a warning that it is locked and the download will be stopped.
