Please, start out from the default timing setting and eventually work your way up from there. If default is not OK use timing level 3...

Thanks,

Marco

I don't know if this will help to find a solution to the problem or not..

It may just prove that I have a faulty TST R49...

But my truck does this exact thing you describe.. but only when the TST is on the truck..

No matter what either the smarty or TST is set at it does this popping sound through the exhaust at certain RPMs...

I haven't been able to track down the exact cause yet though.. so the TST is off the truck and waiting to go for warranty service..

Marco, if you set it on the odd #'s and adjust the timing option, does this add to the exsisting timing or does it erase the programmers timing and replace it with the setting you choose?

I just have the TNT-R (No Revo for me I guess ), but if you take the TNT back to stock and you don't take the options back will they remain on the truck? If yes, .... so if the truck is in essence stock it could then have top speed elimination, NO torq mgt etc?? Tks.

I don't think so. I noticed in the past when I set the speed limiter, (old beta 4.4sl) when I went back to stock the speed limiter changed. Now with the TNT when I have made the changes then went back to stock, the changes went away too and it was really stock

I took my TNT back to stock once since I got it and when I reloaded it,..the setup on the options was where I had set them previously,... which is what prompted my question. The options did NOT default back to the original settings. Don't know,.. just asking.

Guys, I posted this question in another thread, so please accept my apology for the redundancy, but I got to know.

Those with an auto, when you have the (R) tune loaded, does the truck hold the gear until 4k rpms and then shift on its own at 4k, or are you manually shifting it to get it to 4k?

if I let it shift on its own, it will shift at 3200 on 1-2 and 2-3. 3-4 is about 3500.

OK the results are in...

I was running the early version TNT/R and could not run the odd numbered sw's due to popping sound.

Marco sent me the Revo version with TNT/R and on sw9, timing on 3, TM on 3 and RP on 3... Popping is gone...

THANK YOU MARCO!! It works!!! Injectors still rattle a little, but not too bad at all.

As far as the Shifting goes.. I would assume that since that part is mechanically controlled by the transmission valve body (the 48RE is basically a 727 with an EOD attached..) that the shifting would remain the same..

So basically the 4K tune will only come into play when you lock it down into a gear.. such as manually shifting...

I could be wrong though..

That is how it works for me...No 4k unless I hold it there.

Are you maintaining RP on level 9 ?
What size sticks?
Im running the 5.3 on Timing 2.
I cant maintain RP on 9. IT started poping at 60 LBS.
I dont thing it was timing related. After I watched the rail gauge falling , but maybe it was.
