Working out the kinks-- TNT/R
My last tank was 18.16 Hand calc. I'm happy with that. I was on:
Timing 2
TQ mild
Pressure 3
SW 7 and some 9
With many WOT runs which is pretty good in my eyes for something that is so aggresive. And the Idle is so so smooth

After I got the new file from Marco, the truck was running really strong. I loaded sw3 with timing on 3, pressure on 2 and TM on 3. That is a really good "daily driver" tune and am really happy with it...
Unfortunately, I took a family trip to Reno this last weekend and as I stopped for fuel at the end of the trip, checked the oil and the crankcase is full of diesel... the stix that I just installed are pulled and off to the shop today...

Anyways...it is always good to find the REAl problem...
However...I feel for the electronic's guys...cause everyone like to blame their product first.
I have seen time and time again...where a minor mechanical flaw gets blamed on electronics.
Really...the only variable on these trucks IS the mechanical stuff.
Its kinda like blaming death wobble on tires... duh!
Have the injects checked over by Don...
Spend a bunch of time cleaning the injector bores (make sure NO extra copper washers are in there or any thing elese...clean as a whistle), crossover tubes, injector lines...etc etc. Keep the injectors and tubes at room temperature before the install...it makes the oring SO much easier to snap in instead of when they are 30 degrees...I hate winter outdoor installs!
Be a torque wrench **** and get er done...slow steady and RIGHT!
My 04.5 was a prime example...now it is performing up to snuff...I did not even have fuel in my oil!

Well it is a long story, Christian, that I can't put on the forum. But FWIW, it is 70* here and have a good diesel mechanic doing the work... with a good background in common rail high performance.
[QUOTE=cquestad;2024930]PM or better yet email me...I would love to hear it!

Me too, I would like to know!

I would like to know more than anyone else.
There are only 4 things that can cause diesel fuel to to into the crankcase:
1) Cracked injector body ( high pressure )
2) Ball bearing in the side of the injector pops out ( high pressure )
3) O-ring torn during installation
4) CP3 pump seal.
The first thing is found right off the bat on the test bench because the injector will not hold pressure.
The second thing is a visual inspection. You will see the ball bearing has been blown out
The third is another visual inspection upon removal to check for a tear in the o-ring
A cracked injector will add gallons of fuel in a matter of hours, sometimes faster if it is bad enough. You cant drive around for weeks with a crack and not notice the oil level increasing. Same thing goes for the ball bearing. That ball holds the low pressure return volume that is supposed to go back to the tank. This volume can be quite high.
A torn o-ring is usually a slower crackcase filler than a crack.
A CP3 seal is not my specialty. I dont know enough about how fast they can leak to say.

Don,
Thanks for sharing more insite into injector troubleshooting!
BTW...the 04.5 is running great! THANKS A TON!
Evil Twins are almost pumping away on the 04! Going to be a fun weekend!

I was going to order an evil twin kit today, but ended up losing OD and reverse last night playing with the new TNT/R Revo. I think the planet gearset doesn't like the new power lol. Once I get the tranny fixed, I will be calling up Lloyd

So what is the problem? Did you get it running?
