Will a 600 with predator 2, be faster than a Mazda 3?
Will a 600 with predator 2, be faster than a Mazda 3?
When I got my truck I told myself I wouldn't add any programers until the truck was off warranty. However my friend just added a Stage 2 predator module to his 2003 SO Dodge and he is quite happy with it. He now has a faster more powerful truck, that gets significantly better fuel mileage then my 600. I am considering getting a Predator module for myself, mainly for the mileage increase, but the added benifit of of once again having the faster truck will also be nice. In addition another friend just got himself a new Mazda 3. If I do add a programer it would be nice if it made my truck faster than the Mazda which suppose to run high 15's in the 1/4 mile. My question is: Will the 85 hp Stage 2 module make my truck faster than the Mazda 3, or will I need to step up to the 110hp Stage 3?

I would like to get the 110 hp version, but reports of 27,000 psi fuel rail pressure scares me. I would hope that the 85hp version has less fuel rail pressure. I also need to be able to tow with my truck, and I think I would have less egt troubles with the 85 hp box.

No matter what, you won't get the mileage he does with a 555 from what I hear. I don't think pressure boxes do much for mileage, but they trick your overhead comp into thinking they do.
So far on my 600, I have tried the predator stage 2 ( truck would not start and threw some codes--sent it back), Then I tried a friends EZ ( could not even tell it was on there, no power increase at all). After some research, I bought a TST PMCR, I'm putting it on tonight and will give my own little report on it asap.
I will try to hunt down an unsuspecting Mazda 3 this weekend, but it doesn't sound good if they run in they 15's. I ran a 17.3 stock 1/4 mile w/ some extra weight in my truck. 2 seconds is a big difference.

Maybe the box was defective or something, but I could not tell it was on there. I'm by no means saying they don't work because I have ridden in trucks where there was a BIG difference, just not my own
.
