One tire wearing faster than others
One tire wearing faster than others
Hi,
My passenger rear tire is wearing out much quicker than my driver side rear tire. There is probably 3/4" of tread depth on the drive side, but maybe only a 1/2" remaining on the passenger side. Both tires were bought at the same time and seem to be the same quality. Is there some way that more power is being transfered to the passenger side than the driver side? Somtimes I feel like there is a clunk in the rear somewhere, but I can't tell where it is comming from or if it has anything to do with the tire wear. I don't hear any odd noises when turning or anything like that. I changed the diff fluid less that 5000 miles ago. Any ideas?
Thanks.

I don't think I've ever made the tires squeal. I'm pretty easy on my truck. I'll get on it some while accelerating on the on-ramp but that's about it.
Is there a way to tell if the spider gears are jacked without taking it all apart?
I'll see if the opposite wheel gets hot next time I drive it. It doesn't pull left or right, so I don't think it's the brake.
Thanks for the input. Any other ideas?
