I understand that it is a forum...I'm not flaming you at all. Im just trying to give some helpful advice. On a question like "what is the difference between a power pup vs. a triple dog" you would get an answer quicker if you would search rather than waiting for a reply.

i cant belive i actualy took the time out of my day to read all this..
kid... just buy the quad... its the quickest and easyest to install. after reading alot of your posts , that is some thing importat to you... i cant belive we havent goten a pro/con trhread on the proper way to open the hood or fill the truck up... ive never met you, but the impresion i get of you is a high school kid whos momy and dady has a big bank acount and lets you play.. no real knowlage or skill, and only cares about impressing his ffriends that also dont know any thing. ie: wanting to billow smoke, but not want to pay for any thing...

heres a quick way to get smoke... cover 3/4 of your air filter with a sheet of plexi... youll never get enough air to clear the smoke or make enough power to hurt the trans...

hey... even better , just bypass the turbo pipeing alltogether... then you get a loud wistle and every thing!

HAHAHAHAHA, Really funny, just b/c my dad drives you a new Bentley and my Mom a new Porsche, doesnt mean my parents have money, but seriously tho, I am 21 and I work and go to college and work hard for money. My parents dont buy any mods, I have to work for them. So I really wouldnt like to dump thousands and thousands of trans and turbo upgrades. Just looking for a chip with a little bit of everything, thats all.

God dog! Still asking about boxes!! Seems like everyone is telling you to get the quad and run it on the 140hp whenever you want to impress! Seriously, I had Banks before this and quad is way more smooth! More power, and good smoke, and you can install it extremely quickly. Oh and they are cheap for the power!

So.....go ahead and make up your mind, everyone else is saying quad though! Quit wasting space and do searches on here and online to compare chips. You will find more out then. Thats kinda what I did!! I think everyone is getting a tad bit annoyed at the fact that you keep repeating questions, or asking so many. Everyone asks dumb questions though, just try and keep them to a minimum sir!

Viking Diesel has been entered into the Guiness Book of World Records for the biggest waste of bandwidth since Three's Company reruns on network TV...

ok, anyone who is complaining about this thread is getting out of CONTROL. I have never owned a truck especially NOT a diesel. If it was any european car, import or newer performance car I would know all the answers. But its hard to know anything when there's like SOOO much to choose from and living in the Chicago area, knowledge and everything else is limited. Not many people here have diesel trucks and know much about them. There is only like a couple of shops that mod diesel trucks in all of the chicago area. So you guys are just about the only people I can ask to get help and info. Some say good and bad about all the products so I never know which direction to go and its not like many here who work on there trucks and have shops that sell all different things. All the shops in this area either sell EDGE, BANKS or BULLY DOG. For me to go a different route would be risky b/c those guys dont know much about anything else. So I am pretty much going to get either an EDGE or BULLYDOG just b/c I have local dealers so if something were to go wrong, I have someone to take care of it for me. I hope you guys understand.

That's OK - we understand... better safe than sorry, eh?

But what about the new Smarty? It's like the best thing since sliced bread, or maybe even pockets on shirt!!! Just do it, man. I mean, what I'm trying to say is - don't do it!

Sorry, guys - I just couldn't resist....

.... besides, the is my favorite smiley!

2-Stroke!!!!

I used to run the Quad Race box and I will tell you that it has the smoothest power of any box I have run which include

Edge EZ
Van Aaken C3.2
Quad race
TST
MP-8

The nice thing about the Quad box is that the power comes on nice and smooth. All the rest wait till a certain amount of boost and then the power comes on hard, especially the TST. So as this will probably be the last post on this topic except for your final reply, buy the Quad race box!!! If you don't like it, then sell it and get another brand.

The price is pretty nice too. Especially if you call Lary at the DTR store. Then the price gets even better.

You could always find yourself a local dyno day and try someone elses box out. I let a couple guys try my EZ way back when. We are all here to help each other and some of these boxes install in 2 minutes or so...

VikingDiesel, I live in the Chicagoland area and can help with specific problems if they ever occur. 99% of the boxes/programmers you mentioned will work flawlessly, so I wouldn't worry about customer service, if that is your only issue. And I'm not try to plug Quad here, but even though he's in Texas, their service is the best and quickest I've ever dealt with. Pull the trigger on something so we can all move on with our lives... just kiddin'...

Dang I was sold on the juice, but after reading this post and talking to quads staff, I don't fear the pressure increase as much as I used 2. I will probably buy this box instead of the juice......
