OK, some of these trans upgrades are just too much. (makes me think I should've gotten a 6spd) roughly about $2500 for just a TC and VB, talked to Goerend and a few others. $2500 + Turbo +Intercooler + Labor for everything + whatever else I will need. I am NOT a HARDCORE drag racer or anything. Like I said in my previous posts, my truck is a daily driver. I am looking for somthing that I can street race from time to time(nothing insane, just a little races on the highway and streets every once in a while for about 5 min or so and then cut off) and still be reliable. I am noticing a lot of people on here go hoardcore on trans/turbos....etc b/c they will use it and benefit from it, heavy towing, sled pulling, drag racing....etc. I really am NOT looking to do any of those, just occasional street racing. THATS ALL. NOT brake torqing to 40psi or whatever or nothign abusive. So I still think that spending all this money on something I wont even use if just too much and not worth it for me.
So I would like to know whats the most I can do (or the best chip) I should go for if I am planing to leave the trans/turbo and pretty much everything else STOCK? I was looking at the TST, but whats the point of spending $1000 for a chip that I can only use up to level 3 out of 9? So what would you recommened. Oh.... I also need something thats shoots the most BLACK SMOKE

i like my triple dog. Im pretty mean to my truck, and nothings given yet. I have 54k on my stock 48re. You can dial up to extreme and ease into it and blow smoke, or leave it in tow and just hammer down, and it dont hurt that bad. I mean, I can feel it isnt perfect power transfer, but it is, what it is. I like the triple dog for its cleanliness - plug and play.
Slap on a 100 h.p. chip and leave it at that. Even with only 100 h.p. its not advisable to do much brake standing.
I went with Quadzilla's standard Xzillaraider box for the reason you mentioned. Tranny upgrades are very expensive. I won't mind doing paying for them after putting 100,000 miles on the truck, but I don't want to trash a perfectly good tranny off the bat.

I ran a Quad Xzillaraider and Juice/Attitude with basically stock truck except for air intake and muffler. Both provided solid performance and worked well with no issues. The Juice/Attitude may be a little better functionally with some built in protection, but if you add the Quad Commander to the XZillaraider you have the same functionality and more. They both are at the 100hp level on high settings and when used with discipline and common sense are fine on stock trans and turbo. You can always nuke a tc/trans with the high settings if you abuse it, but you can do that with the stock truck.

If you get the edge juice, you will have the attitude monitor so you will be able to watch fuel pressure and other temps. Great option. To me the only other choice would be the Bully Dog programmer. Everyone around here is runnning the bully dog and loving it.
well my bully dog jacked mine eventually. But if your not sled pulling or doing 10PSI boosted launches at the track every other weekend or towing 20K+ youll probably be ok. It can be upgraded via online for free and you can change so many things its unbeliveable. I dont have any experience with the others though.
