Hello,

I have heard no talk about cylinder wash down from the water. When lube is stripped from the walls the temps start climbing and wear goes way up.

Thanks John....just curious how that worked. I also didn't know, for example, if he knew at the time of his "banning".....that it was for 30 days only and after that point could rejoin the group. If he isn't aware of it, I would assume he thinks it's forever. And who knows if he even wants to come back. I am just asking hypothetically....since I don't know him.

BSwope...........sorry for the thread jack.

Why do you see this as an issue? I do not think you will get any loss of wall oil film from water injection as long as the cross hatch is still intact.

The water isn't pressure-washing the cross-hatches... it's exhausted along with the other combustion byproducts.

Here's a few picks

Nozzel location / Wilson Intake
1 - 14 GPM in the intake horn
1 - 7 GPM near #1 cylinder
1 - 7 GPM near #5 & 6

You must mean GPH, you will not shove 28 GPM into the engine using 1/4" tubing unless you are running MASSIVE pressure levels.

Hello,

Pretty obvious it's not pressure washing the cylinder walls. In gas motors an overly rich mixture can cause the oil film to break down and the ring seal goes south real quick. With the amount of water they are talking I can only believe that this is a very real concern. It would be interesting to see leak down tests before running water injection like what has been talked about and then a few months later.

Ok guys here is a question.... would it be better to have one of the nozzles on the other side of the intake manifold? With both on one side it kinda seems that the water would be forced to stay on that side of the manifold so with one on the other side maybe the atomized water would be dispensed better between the cylinders. Im just thinking out loud here and remember im still learning fellas!

Now that what Ive been looking for!! THANKS... I do have one question though....
How did you split the one line going directly into the manifold its self? I see the "Y" splitting the two that go to the intake plate but cant see how you did the one in the intake horn...
