Water Injection
Ok fellas with all the CR's out there melting pistons im beginning to get alittle worried here, I mean im reading about guys melting pistons even when EGT's are still in check and this is what has me worried.
I really dont want something like this to happen to my truck so im looking into a water injection system and I wanna see what system's you guys are running and why you chose that particular system. I wanna add one of these systems before I go much farther with my never endless [laugh] build!!! So let talk alittle water injection here for abit..... what ya say fellas??????[coffee] Thanks guys, Buddy |
Some say water only/ some say 40 meth is OK.
Cant run water in the northeast in winter so , I hope the 40 percent Meth is OK. ( -20 blue washer fluild ) Coolingmist 250 pump ,2 nozzles, 7 gallon tank in bed. Srarts at 18 pounds progressive to 48 pounds I beleive the meth adds timing so Im trying timing 4 TNTR |
Whats do you guys think about the progressive systems verse the hobbs switch setup? I was thinking about building my own setup with a hobbs switch.

I dont plan to run any meth, just pure distilled water. BUT what is everyone running during the winter? Id have to do something there to keep from freezing. Im new to this water thing so bare with me.....[duhhh] |
You either run the meth or drain the system.
or fill with 30/40 % meth & disarm for the winter/ drain & refill with water. |

I would order that kit with an extra one of their bigger nozzles. I'm in the testing phase with my Cooling Mist "Diesel Super High Flow Injection system" which runs two of their 16 GPH nozzles per pump and with my setup in the low 600HP range I'm into the second pump/stage before the temps level off at 1200*

Guys im also likeing this one......http://www.alcohol-injection.com/wat...age-2-278.html

Buddy, if ya read close, he is running two nozzles per pump.........

I got ya, but two pumps. two nozzles each........ shower head flows less water !
|
bigger nozzles are not always the best route to go.

So your saying you would go with atleast 3 nozzles?
Is the kit your testing a new one they are working on or something? The kit I'm running is one off of their website. http://www.coolingmist.com/detailmai...d=1007dualpump It's the biggest kit they offer. By testing I mean that I've only owned it for a short time and I'm still fooling around with the controller and settings. I had problems with getting the second stage to come on, but found I had something programed wrong. |
