Twins/Fass/- trucks too quiet-why?

I finally got my twins and fass system installed and ran it all weekend. Unreal to drive but now my truck is too quiet, at speed it sounds like a gasser. I spent alot of $$$ on my silverline exhaust and now it is quieter than stock. Dont get me wrong before the twins and fass my truck sounded great, Im just trying to figure out why the truck would get so quiet. I will be pulling the silverline muffler and adding a straight pipe when I get time but not real happy about it. I understand the fass would make the truck run a little quieter but my truck honestly sounds like a sissy truck. (well till the twins light).

Maybe the twins are absorbing a lot of the sound. Just a theory.

what FASS did you go with?

that doesnt sound like a problem for me, but I like quiet. a 5" might be a little deeper, if thats what you are looking for

Now that your exhaust is going through two exhaust housings, it will dampen the exhaust tone to a fairly significant degree. You might take the muffler out and see how that works for you.

And yes, when the primary lights everyone starts looking for the jet plane....

I went with the fass 200gph, maybe a little overkill even when I put in my ats stage 2- 110hp injectors but I didnt want her going dry. Im going to be looking for a different mounting location or fabbing a little different bracket since I mounted mine to the frame rail under the bed and it hangs down 5" or so and can be easily seen on the driver side. For now I plan to see if they offer black filters or buy 4 sets and paint them or maybe have them powder coated black depending on price. But for right now I need my truck running and am just having too much fun with it.

First, congrats on the BD twins install. If you have experience with other turbo setups on the 3 gen. trucks, I would like your impression of the twins as a comparison.

The FASS should not alter the exhaust note. The FASS 150 is relatively loud by itself. It's a reassuring sound for me.

As far as exhaust sound, my system can and does make folks swerve over as I pass on frequent occasion. It can be VERY loud. It just depends on how I drive. Deep sound is related to volume, which is related to pipe diameter. Setting off car alarms is easy. In a parking garage, friends said that they could easily feel the vibration of my truck from the ground across the street.

I have my own reasons for this. It has partially to do with where I live and safety.

I have a friend here with twins and the same exhaust, and I can say that mine is still a fair amout louder.

Some of the guys on here with the big stack setups are actually much louder than mine. Perhaps they can chime in.

It's the twins. My buddy used to run straight 5" down pipe with his twins that dumped under the passenger floor board and it was quieter in there than it was in my truck with stacks. Amazing what another turbo will do. You do know that at least in the state of Texas a turbo is considered a legal muffler because it absorbs so much sound.

A turbo acts somewhat like a big muffler, quiets things down, so when you add another...
