so apparently I do have a 48re instead of the 47. should I still be carefull with the predator/puck stack on the economy setting? or am I ok?

yes, any stock auto can suffer bad effects from major power increases. the 48 is stronger than the 47, but can still be easily hurt.

I heard something about new shafts on the tranny, instead of rebuilding it, is that a good idea?

you need to up grade the other internal parts of the tranny beforre doing the shafts. the clutches, bands, accumilators, servos, torque converter and VB would need to be up graded shafts are for guy running alot higher HP like 550+. but if your rebuilding the tranny and can afford to do the shafts as well and plan on going bigger i would do it in one shot. HTS builds a mighty strong tranny if you want to just do a built one
