Superchips tuner

Anyone tried one of these yet? Claims 3 different power settings, ability to correct for oversize tires and gear swaps, too.

I'm thinking of getting an 03, but if I don't, then I'd like to start turning up my 98.5; warranty ran out last month.

(Sorry if this is in the wrong forum - it applies to the 24V engine but it's also an accessory....)

Re:Superchips tuner

I have one that I installed last week, in conjunction with my Comp box. Seems to be most effective @ Comp level 2/5, with the tuner @ 80HP setting. For the money ($300.00), I think it is great. Would never replace the Comp though. JMO

The superchips tuner is a NICE tool since it allows you to clear any codes that your ez or comp throws. Seems like money well spent to me. It also can compensate for larger or smaller tires, different gear ratios etc.

Re:Superchips tuner

That was my big question is if it was stackable with a comp / ez ect. If it is id say great deal, just the tire changes and comp codes are a good investment. Does it also change the shift points for the autos? im assuming it doesl ike the others but i havent had a chance to look at it yet.

Re:Superchips tuner

I went to super chips site & they only show the gas engines as having the ability to select the differnt gear ratios & tre sizes & the diesel one only adds power is there another link somewhere?

Re:Superchips tuner

I believe it does change shift points as well. It is definitely stackable with a Edge Comp too. There is a thread by another member (LE) in one of the forums regarding this topic. I took a look but couldnt find the thread.

Re:Superchips tuner

It does compensate for tire size and axle ratios. It is also stackable with Edge products. Pretty cool toy.

Re:Superchips tuner

I don't know much about TST products. If it is basically the same as an EDGE Comp, I would say yes. If not, it is anybodys guess. Good luck. LE
