Transmission Problem
Transmission Problem
Hi there,
I've been running a Quadzilla chip for about 6 months. When installed I was amazed at the power difference on level 1. LOVE IT!! also seems to get a tiny little extra fuel milage.
I changed my transmisson fluid and filter a few days before this problem started. When I accelerate up a hill with the chip in level 1 after I feel the extra horsepower kick in the Drivetrain starts to shutter, almost feels as though there is slippage. Only when the extra JAM is being out. When I turn the chip off and giver up the hill, getting as much stock power out of the truck it's normal, no shutter. When on a flat surface and I floor it with chip on you can feel it very minor but not really a concern. Only under load?
I am leaning towards my torque converter but not completely sure. Fuel milage seems to have dropped since this problem began. I am running my transmission oil a little lower with AMSOIL ATF so my next step is to maybe put a little more in. It is within the dotted line on dip stick, ran it a tad high previousy because of leveling kit. Don't really think that maybe .5ltr low would create this problem.
Also looking for suggestions on new transmission options for my 47re out of 2003 3500. Was leaning towards the BD performance one and the torque converter they sell with it. Looking for something mostly for street and the odd towing but stronger then this P.O.S crap from DODGE!
