Towing a goose neck trailer with a lift?

I tow a 24 foot GN trailer and was thinking about a lift kit but I don't know how it would be. Any experience would be great, what size and what brand do you guys have? I think I would probably lean toward a 4" because I will probably stay with a 35" tire and 37's would probably look better with 6 inches. What do you think?

if you tow alot i think it would be a huge pain to mess with coupling and uncoupling but the lifted trucks sure look nice

Hi Big Horn,

I run a KORE lift w/35" tires and tow a 25' GN regularly. I have only had a slight rub on the bed rail at the very most rear corner once which was completely my fault and the slope/drop off was overly steep. Really no worries with a mild lift IMO.

I was a little worried about the clearance but all the towing I have done I have only had to back down one hill that was questionable. I like the lifted look but I think I would have to keep it around 4". how big is your kore lift?

I forget the exact numbers, but it is not a huge lift (KORE Race kit). For reference (in case your GN may have different specs), I am pulling a PJ trailer.

In my case, the "hill" is a portion of our property that we built up a pad to have parties on. After a get together, I pulled off the pad (slope is probably a bit greater than 3 to 1 where I pulled off) and was not paying attention. Had I been paying attention, it would not have happened - operator error all the way IMO and should not be a concern...

It helps to have a GN made to fit:

You can see what I am running in my sig. I pull flatbeds goosenecks (20' and 24') loaded with hay and equipment (tractors, JD 6200, 5205, etc.). Goosneck cattle trailers (24' Wilson or Stoll). I have never had any problems with the lift and larger tires when towing. I was worried about this too, but it is not a problem at all. I would think that if you went 6" and 37" tires, it might start to be a problem with the angle of the trailer in relation to the bed sides, especially in an offroad situation.

It is no harder than a stock truck.

I pull all the time with my 30' GN and 37's rolling on 4.5" of lift. It is about all that is practical with most standard "new" GN's....

its a bigger jump to get into the bed to lock the coupler! thats what i was talking about! or a higher fall off the tire if you try the over the bed method
