well i have noticed recently i have a ticking noise under accelation. I know its not the timing rattle since i've heard that for 19k now with my programmer on there.

Do yall think its an injector. It only does it under a load and i let off the gas and cruise it goes away. I know what the timing rattle is and its totally different noise. Is it somthing to be worried about?? I also noticed a lil white smoke on start up yesterday leaving the lake too

Mine has also been making a ticking sound. It seems to only do it first thing in the morning when it is cold outside.

 

i had a ticking for a while, then it started getting worse. after a little inspecting. it was a fuel rail hold down that got loosened up and was vibrating. It sounded like a exhaust leak at first but all it was, was that hold down, the little piece that is clipped onto the line going to the connector tube

 

alright more noise today. i was at a stop idleing and my motor starting making noise over my radio and was kinda sounding like a knocking noise and the truck started to vibrate a lil also. It only does it at idle and goes away under power.

please help. thinking of going to dealer for warrenty work on this!

 

Sounds like an injector issue to me. I had the same symptoms a while back and after a board members suggestion, I started running the Howe's Meaner Cleaner and haven't had a problem since.

I get some rattle with the Quad. I usually run on the 60hp setting. If I turn it down to 30, it get's much quieter. It looks like you have a Smarty, did you try a different setting to see if it makes a difference ?

 

it does it on all. it has timing rattle for sure. but at idle it gets loud!!!!!!!

went be the dealer and talked with the diesel tech and told him my syptoms and he told me i had injector issues. that they or he would recommend replacing all. going in for warrenty work

 

figure out what it is yet?

 

i will know more next week. but the tech has been working on dodge diesels for 4 years and thats all he has done. i told him what it was doing. He told me he would put the injectors on a flow chart and see what pressure he was getting and probaly just replace all 6
