Is there a fuel filter thats better for performance (for the stock housing)?

As the title says, I was wondering if there is a better fuel filter to use that will maybe help with performance a little? Is there a brand that flows better than others? Or is there one that at least filters better than the stock Cummins or Mopar one does? I don't know whats in my truck now, but I was planning on changing it since I'm going to change all the fluids and filters this weekend. I bought the truck used and I don't know when everything was done last so I figured I would start fresh with everything... Also, I'm planning on buying the GDP lift pump and filter kit soon. Do you still use the stock filter in addition to the GDP kit, or does it get bypassed?

Thanks for any help,
Jason

fleetguard makes a 7 micron filter that can be purchased from genos garage for $14.95. most ctd owners change filters at 10,000 mile intervals or every other oil change.

I ordered a few Napa 3585XE fuel filters from fleetfilter.com. They are 7 microns.
