I Have An 06 With A Built 48re.i Got Out Of The Dealer Today And My Truck Wouldn't Back Up.i Thought The Dealer Was Doing A Power Brake, But He Said The Truck Would Not Back Up.he Thinks Two Bands Were Grabbing.

I Don't Know Much About It.the Linkage Needed Adjusted And It Backs Up Now, But When Shifting It Goes From 1st To 2nd Then 1st To 2nd Etc.it Does That Gear Hunting Real Fast And At Low Rpm's.the Only Way To Avoid That Is To Give Is Fuel.

I Have To Travel 2000 Miles In The Next Few Days , But Don't Want To Hurt Anything. Any Ideas Are Appreciated!!

 

mine does the same gear hunting thing at slow speeds (my tranny is stock). Have heard of others doing it as well.

 

It might be the govenor soelinoid. At least it was on my 05's 48re

 

Just Got Off The Phone With Someone Who Knows Trannys A Little Bit,and He Said It Could Fry In Seconds.it Might Be 2nd And Reverse Applying At The Same Time.

 

Anyone Have Any Suggestionsor Someone I Can Talk To? Thanks

 

I don't see how that is possible, but I've been wrong before. There is a TSB out for the 1-2-1-2 shift. I think it's more like the gov. sol. that was mentioned up above.

 

It's Not So Much The 1-2-1-2 Shift, It's Like 1-2 Then The Reverse Applys Then Back To 1.either Way I Have To Pull It And Not Go On My Trip.

 

Have you talked to your tranny builder about it?

Agree did it work fine before the dealer got ahold of it??? Did they adjust something in the trans??

 

whats the TSB for the 1-2 shifting problems? and what years is it for?

 

IT DID WORK FINE UNTIL THE DEALER, BUT THEY DID NOT DO A REFLASH.

 

Just what did they do? Anything to the tranny?
