.....and people think im trailer park???

Matego you really souldve used swing set metal. Like with tha stripes on it?

With parts on your truck like that you need a CB, a loudspeaker, and the "Sweatin to tha eighties" soundtrack.

You could have at least made the corners a little easier for the flow

Sweet! I always like seeing stuff like this.

So what are your temps like now? Notice any improvement in response? I wouldn't worry about the corners, after all this is a temp situation. There was a video on youtube a while back of a 2nd gen truck running an HE351 (they called it an HX40). The owner fabbed up a pipe from the turbo to the intercooler that was two 90's just like this. That was their permanent solution though!

cquestads right, you can get some tough zip ties these days!

Well the results are in. I have about 50mi on the rig and the results were suprising. I run a decent grade up a mountain to and from work that I use to test stuff. I set the cruise to 55 going up it last night and it runs about 20PSI boost with the intercooler. Same boost numbers and EGT's may have been a needlewidth higher... thats it. Right around 1000*

I decided to smash it today on the way to work. TNT #1 TQ2 Timing 2 and RP 0. I never have seen my boost gauge go up so quick. It instantly broke the tires loose in 3rd and sent me sideways. I thought there must have been something on the road so I did it again. Same results. @ 45PSI Dont get me wrong, I am getting a new intercooler on Saturday from Lloyd ( Thanks Mid Atlantic Diesel ) and it is going in.

I wanted to use bent tubing and we had 2 real nice 3" elbows at work but they were 8$ each. The pipe was free and I have 0$ in manufacturing. I spent a ton of time on the insides making sure all the welding spawls were out.

any updates

tomorrow i am going to be doing this aslo. remvoing the charge air cooler and running a pipe. I agree and think that boost will be way faster and wont have the pressure wave as bad from the cac. temps will be higher but definitely seems neglible if heat management is used correctly. ill post my findings later with photos if i remember to take any. ive also been experimenting with running a "deleted" fan and fan shroud. i live in alaska and fully deleted tuned trans and built truck runs great and cool. im just trying to prove things true or not. do you really really need an intercooler?
