Steering Dampner Install

Guys,
I know this should be easy but I have a new bilstein steering dampner to install and I canot get the stock one off. The stud that mounts to the tie rod will not come free? Any ideas or methods to get it off? Just trying to figure out if I am doing something wrong? Thanks.

I ended up using a ball joint puller to get mine off. Popped it right out.

Yea, I changed mine with a pitman arm puller. Just turned it sideways so the forks grabbed a hold of the bar. I was about ready to give up on it and one more turn and it popped out. Thing is in there for sure.

****, I didn't know it was a press fit in there? Will it be that hard to install the new one? I thought steering stabilizer install would be easy, guess I was wrong.

I have a pitman arm puller and I put the stud on the bolt and the arms on the tie rod. It popped off in a few turns. New one went on in 5 mins..
