Which Southbend should I go with?
My clutch is finally slipping on my truck after 85,000kms/ 55,000 kms with Smarty tuned in. Done lots of pulling with Smarty on level 3 and daily driving on level 5. Was inevitable that I would be in the situation I'm in now looking to upgrade. I've wanted a new clutch long before this but hard to blow the cash when my stock clutch worked just fine. My question now is what clutch to go with. I'm down to two, the single con ofe or the DD3250. I wanna have full use of my Smarty and a different turbo setup and injectors one day without having to worry about over doing it with just the con ofe. Should I just go with the dual? Or will I be just fine with the single? This truck pulls trailers enough and is a daily work truck and nothing more, not looking to sled pull or anything like that. I'm also not worried about the noise issues with a dual either. Any other clutch suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
Another question I have is when I have my truck in the shop and somewhat tore down are there other things I should get done to save grief in the future? My powertrain is still under warranty and will definately get the mechanic to have a look at the tranny just because.
go with some sort of Dual disk, i have a single disk from valair... its 12 button ceramic.. its a great clutch for daily driving a higher mid range truck, but not if u plan on pulling, draging, or slipping it in anyway... just wont handle the abuse...

My SB 3250 is sweet! It is a little grabby pulling out in 2nd but I am used to it. Since you have the g56 trans it will come with the upgraded hydro lines. Clutch pedal is just as light as stock and shifts very smooth. It is a little loud at idle with the clutch out and trans in neutral but I like it. For just a couple hundred dollars more go with the DD over the single you won't regret it.

Like said above, call Peter.
I'd stay away from the DD, noisy, slow shifting, grabby, not trailer friendly, but if you wanna do 3rd gear launches pull sleds or hope to get to 600 hp or something that's the way to go.
I love my OFE, only slightly more grabby than stock, quiet, good for towing and backing a trailer. Rated at 450 but easily handles my 500 and I know a guy that ran 580 through his. Best thing is it's quiest, doesn't sound like my truck is falling apart which is what a DD sounds like to the uneducated (ie your wife and/or girlfriend etc)
BTW, neither the DD or the OFE "comes with" the hydraulic upgrade, that's an extra 300 bucks.

get a fluidamper. since you would be gettin rid of the dual mass flywheel (helps vibrations), you are going to transmit those vibrations into the tranny & t-case.

I just put in a dd3250 a week ago and before i did i called peter and he was very helpfull told me with my mods I would be fine with a single but if I was going to go out and beat on it to get a dd, and so far im very happy with it, I did the hydros but almost regret that, didnt need them yet according to peter so i might put the stock back in so the cluch will engage in the correct spot instead up half way up off the floor
