How to tell if your running to much timing?

Hey fellas. I am wondering about, what are the ways to tell if your running to much timing? I have a Van Aaken 3.2 box and the extreme tune from my bully dog power pup stacked. It runs rell strong to me. I read in a couple other posts that together they may add to much timing. So how can you tell? Thanks Gents.

Too much timing will sound bad. Too much timing is hard on rods and bearings as well as head gaskets as it increases cylinder pressure. I believe that moderation is key. Enough timing to restore it to where it should be for power/economy but to too much to hurt components. The power you may gain is not good from a longevity standpoint. Just my opinion on the matter. I am fairly conservative. I guess my signature explains that.

thanks, right now it seems fine to me and doesnt even smoke throughout the rpm band, which surprised me because it seems that most who run the extreme bully tune say it rolls coal. I was just a little concerned about what others said about stacking timing.

It's not good have 2 boxes that change the same things, like if both yours add timing (which it sounds like they do), that's why people run timing only boxes (MP8, Dr P, Quad X2) with their Smarty or BDTD.
If you've got too much timing you'll hear it.
I'd put CL on your BDTD and get a timing box, but make sure you run a rail gauge if you do. You'll be needing auto or clutch upgrades not long after...

Just for informational purposes the Van Aaken C3.2 is duration only, no timing. You're good to go.

Not really, the BDTD does duration too, still asking for trouble...
