Red face some thoughts and ??

Hello Boys,
I have a 2005 2500 with the cummins,stock.

First I want to quickly vent on a couple of things that annoy me after I spend some $40K. I don’t know if anyone else has found the same problems. One, they could of atleast put decent head lights on the truck, these are worse than ones we had on vehicles 30, 40 years ago. Second I find the steering wheel to be an odd shape, after a little while my hands begin to hurt, and lastly, I am about 6ft, I find that the seat back is a little short, the top of the seat hits me right on the shoulder blades, ugh. I never had these problems before in any vehicle I owned. Don’t they test drive em? That felt good.

I don't have the time to read thru the posts as much as I would like, so I apologize if some this has been beaten to death already. I scanned thru some post, but I am still not clear on some things, so I am looking for just a quick brief answers.

What are my options for headlights that work decently without going broke. I guess I am willing to spend up to about $125, don’t know what that will get me. I would think the simpliest thing is to just replace the bulbs, but to which ones ? I guess I should also mentioned I don’t want to really mess with the fog lights, and of course I do need both high and low beam to be brighter. They are awful. I read something about projector headlights, the bulbs might not last that long. The more reading I try and do, the less clear it is with all the options.

Second, I would like to put some type of bed rail protection on, plastic would be fine, where do I look for them.

Locking tonneau cover. My back seat is full of tools and stuff that I occasionally need a couple of times a year to fix some rental units I own, back seat is taking a beating, so I am thinking of going with a easy to remove locking tonneau cover, if there is such a thing. If so any suggestions. Again not too expensive, I really don’t go anyplace where there is a significant threat of break in.

Thanks
Anthony

Welcom to the DTR, jukenut. Do a serch on HID's, there was a pretty good post on them. To fill out your sig so everyone knows what you have without you having to type it every time, go to user CP in the top left corner of the page, and click edit signature. For the cover and bed rail, I can't help you there. If you just want the rails done, I would find a linex dealer and ask how much just the rails would run you. I would not reccomend Rhino liners, I have one and am very dissatisified.
Hope I helped a little.

I like my ARE hard cover on the bed.

There are some HID lights that are complete replacements on ebay that everyone was raving about on another thread. I think they were in your price range.

The steering wheel is even too fat to put a cover over it. I like it though as I have big hands and it is very comfortable for me.

You know, I can't even remember the bulb number. 9007ST I think.

Pretty much any of your local auto parts store has them. Napa, Pep Boys, etc. I think even WallyWorld has them.
Search on line also might save you a few George's too.

Truckaddons.com for the cover and bedrails. Get some HID lights for the front, and you will not be dissatisfied.
