smarty problems

i had a performance shop tell me that when he sells smarty's 2 out of 3 when you power brake or do a burnout the pedal sticks and it is out of control for a few seconds. anyone heard of that?

Mine has never did while doing a burnout or power braking. Althought if I gas it hard when it is in park or nuetral, it will hang at a high rpm for about a second. I think it did the same when I had my TST. Someone correct me if I am wrong, but I think that is from the Smarty fueling so hard then instantly dropping the throttle. So it has to burn off all the fuel. It would not do it with a load on it, because your RPM's can not drop as fast.
Like I said before someone please correct me if I am wrong. I am not a diesel tech.

Sounds like he wants you to buy something else!

Although any box/DL that gets the rail pressure nice and high is gonna make it drop off slower than stock... all that fuel has to go somewhere.

exactly! the pedal did not stick, it takes a second or two for the rail pressure to drop back down to normal levels. just like you can drain the rail after a few seconds of WOT, it takes some time to ease the pressure back down. there is nothing wrong with the smarty or his truck.

I would like to go and run on the dyno, but I got a lotta crap to do before our first fishing trip next week. I think I might compromise, stop in for a while for a look, hopefully meet a buncha forum guys.
I'll PM you my cell number...
