I had it on performance 100hp and the the 2 switch setting on stock. truck just seems to drink oil with this controller. My old 12v never dropped a quart at 5k. This truck with smarty on it. Seems to be going through quite a bit. I plowed the other day and it and that requires getting into the peddal a bit. I swear I burned 2 quarts plowing. I think I am going to put my quadzilla chip back on and sell the smarty. Not worth the amount of oil I am going through sor 30 more horse

I've been running 2 with TM and TQ on 1, with POD on 99. Seems to have extra power and low smoke.

I'm thinking you have something else wrong. I run mine in SW3 (100HP) TM2 TQ2 and PoD 65 to 75 and don't use a drop of oil.
I have also never heard of anyone burning oil just because of a programmer.

I'm same as Rockcrawler, have had my JR on for about 20K now @ 100HP and the truck uses the same amount of oil between changes as always... about 1/4 QT every 7K. I run RedLine 15x40 but I drive light-footed as a rule.

Are you thinking your burning oil by the smoke or by the dipstick? The Jr smokes a little, but thats not oil.

50k with my smarty and never burn any oil. Black smoke = un burnt fuel.

I agree with RockCrawler, I have over 65k on my jr and had a sr for 15K before that. I've never had to add extra oil. I wouldn't get rid of that smarty it's a great programmer.

Well I thiink, and really hope not. But my air filter is dirty. And its a after marrket one. I am going to pull the tubes and look for oil. I think it maybe time to trade it in. I can even imagine the cost of fixing this.

If you have one of those oiled gauze airfilters pull the intake to the turbo an look for dirt and dust accumulation.

No amount of fueling by the Smarty should cause engine oil burn.

BTW I have been trying to get less smoke with Smarty Sr. POD and tried the lowest SW number 1 setting but modified torque management to #4 and POD on 99. Works great very little to no smoke and super snappy on the pedal!

I had been using SW5 which was the highest recommended for a stock clutch and it could smoke heavy if I got on it.
