smarty gave code P0148?

Got smarty code P0148, high pressure common rail. Truck is also losing power on acceleration. Does anyone know what this code and symptoms are saying the problem is? lift pump?

That code is very common. I get it on my truck very time I turn the pressure up to 3-4 Its no big deal just erase it and turn the pressure down

The Jr doesn't affect pressure, so it won't be related to it.

I got that one along with another as my lift pump crapped. Is the engine surging or loosing RPM at idle?

yeah, can only give light throttle to avoid surging. saturday I had a little less than 1/8 tank of fuel and at highway speeds the engine stalled out twice. took a minute to start but made it off the highway to a fuel station and filled her up. the truck started with no problem and for the next hour on my way home everything ran perfect. full power and no hesitation and I cleared the code with the smarty and has not come back yet. I have a feeling as the fuel in my tank gets low, the problem will be back. I dont know if my lp is in the tank or near the fuel filter. I guess I will bring it into the dealer when the problem comes back and give them a crack at it.

Crobinson, the other code I had was P0628. That seems to be the death blow for the lp. I believe the Smarty will identify it as low voltage-lift pump.

his truck is a 06 and if i am correct has the in tank pump and not the high failure lift pump of the earlier years. So doubt he is having a pump problem.

You LP is in the tank... You shouldn't have issues at low fuel like a draw straw, I would take it to the dealer, there is a chance your pickup is broken.

Yeah, I doubt its a LP issue, but more of a pickup issue.

Chris, get them to reflash your truck. Second, Since we went "off-roading" I think it is fuel related. If they want to charge you for the reflash we can take it to my buddy up at Cherokee Dodge. He will do it fo free
