Smarty beta 4.4 and new clutch
500hp or less with no sled pullin go with an OFE anything more than that get a DD. And I have had to of typed it a dozen times now but FWIW I can shift my DD just as fast as stock. The main downside to the DDs is the price, and perhaps the plate load if you decide to get a heavy plate on it.
I finally changed out my clutch. Peter at SBC recommended the DD3250 and gave me a good price (with a little military discount - thanks again Peter). Things I learned that I want to share:
1. DO NOT use a "transmission jack adapter" for this. At Harbor Freight the whole jack was $200, and the adapter was only $40, so I went cheap
. Big mistake. The adapter is a cradle with a pole at the bottom to slide into any jack with a hole...supposedly
. Did not work as advertised. Probably added 3+ hours to the install just having to hassle with it. We did finally manage to make it work.
2. The DD does have more weight to shift, so it was slightly slower and harder to shifter. I switched to Amsoil synthetic ATF in the transmission, and it smoothed up shifting quite a bit. I also bought a weighted shift **** from 53willys and that helps alot as well.
3. Either its breaking in more and more or I'm just adjusting to a different clutch but it keeps getting smoother and smoother shifting. Maybe a little of both.
4. No matter what I do I can't slip the clutch anymore, it holds great
.
I am very satisfied with my purchase and would do it again in a heartbeat.

i just put a 3250 in mine a couple weeks ago that is one great clutch.
i see that you said atf in the trans i dont know much about the g56 but is that the right fluid of the g56 i know that the nv5600 is very perticular about what fluid you put in it. but when i change my fluid finally at 116000 miles it made it shift alot better and the clutch smoothed it out the rest of the way better than the day i bought with 22000 miles on it
