I tried the truck out tonight at the drag strip. It is only 1/8 mile. I started in 2nd gear and finished in 6th. I was really surprised that it ran that well. That is with no boosted launch and just a Smarty. I thought with 315's I could hold 5th but nope out of rpm's.

 

great times for a handshaker. you must of been throwing them freaking gears

 

what was your speed , i can run 5th to about 85 befor i feel her stat to de fuel

 

The G56 is geared a lot lower than your truck, at 85 in 6th I'm around 2700 rpm.

 

8.3s 1/8 is pretty good period much less G56! What was your 60' times and mph.

 

I didn't do any boosted launches but my 60ft times were between 2.057 and 2.347. The mph is the kicker it is very low I think compared to the gas burner cars there. It was anywhere from 81 to 87 mph. I am going to try and post a video of a few passes if I can dowload them and they come out clear.

 

What setting did you have the Smarty on?

 

It was on level 7. As the guys at the track wanted the smoke levels to stay down. There was maybe a very slight wind and it would of blown on all the spectators.

 

Well all I can say on my 1/4 mile time slips an 8.3s 1/8 @ 83+mph ends in very low 13.0s or even 12.9s 1/4 mile times. And that is with fairly hard 4wd boosted launches.

I think you can come out of the hole harder from your 60'ers

p.s what RPM do you yank a gear at?

 

I came out of the hole around 1200 rpm's and zero boost. I know I can come out harder but the flip flops and dewwie ground makes for some crappy foot action. I was shifting around 3200 or so. The tires spun when turbo lit in 2nd and when shifting to 3rd. But this was in 4wd. My first pass was in 2wd and it was spin city.

 

You wore flip-flops on the blacktop! - what if you stepped on a pop-top?
