Running the Beta 4.2 and I got an overboost code over the weekend. I thought the program did boost fooling? I was running on a two lane road and the 2 cars in front were going 10 under the speed limit for 20+ miles. So I got a chance to pass and ran her wide open from 45mph to way too fast! On the way up I got the audible alarm, and the CEL. Dont know if the truck defuled, cause I immediately let off when I heard it. I e-mailed the guys, but they must be busy. So whats the deal?

 

Its not only on the Beta version because it happened to me too.

 

Even on the aftermarket turbo setting?

 

I am running wild#9 for aftermarket turbo and yes I also had the same code three times.

 

Well thats not good, is the Quad boost fooler working for you? I had one and sold it when I got my smarty thinking I wouldnt need it.

 

when I had a smarty, i found using a boost fooler works alot better than using the Smarty's aftermarket turbo program. But thats me and MY truck.

Cant remember the # but I know its overboost. Ive seen it before, just not with the Smarty.

 

I have been getting the boost in low range and also the turbocharger overboost condition on a daily basis causing me to pull over and clear codes. I also thought Smarty should do boost fooling but apparantly it dosnt do enough.

 

I am running the beta 4.4 version and I didn't get the overboost code I got
P0602 which I thought was just something to do with using the downloader, but when I cleared the code it idles much better. The truck ran fine, just idled bad for a while until clearing the code. My truck idled badly like it did when my bullydog was throwing overboost codes. So its got me wondering.

 

I would like to hear more about this before I order one. Only happens if u are running higher then stock boost lvls right??

 

Trying different setups right now. I pulled the boost fooler off and now it seems like I lost power on the top end but havent thrown the code yet.(2 months) Oh yeah I believe the code was po299 something like that. I started a thread on this about 2 months ago when this happened to me.
