Well fellas...I got my AMSOIL dry filter installed. It fits like a glove! The base of the filter does rest against the wall of the air-box but I dont see any issues with that as its snug onto the intake tube. It clears the plastic cover as well....

Looks great in there too. Took it for a quick drive...it almost seems like there is more whistle maybe or I might just be crazy

Anyway...this is a perfect filter to fit our intakes! I also just ordered an Outerwears Pre-Filter cover to keep the bugs off the filter and extend the service life a bit. Only $26...

Here are some pictures installed....

Yup, Amsoil is having a hard time keeping the nanofiber filters stocked, that is part of the reason for the wait. They are very much worth the wait.

With the s & B does the intake tube go all the way down to the turbo? I mean does this system replace the entire system or does it still use some of the stock componets?

The S&B uses the factory 90* bend going into the turbo, that's the only piece of the stock system that stays. Some say the little white things in the 90 help direct airlow and should not be removed.

The Amsol looks to have a lot less filter area compared to the original S&B element in the pictures, looks like the original would flow a lot more than the Amsol, (or maybe I'm just trying to convince myself I made the right choice buying a second S&B element!)

I agree with ya on the overall filter area but I really dont think you're going to notice any difference...if there even is one. I did a couple of WOT runs after install and I couldnt tell a difference. Power still felt the same...

To each his own...but I'm happy with mine

Yah, I doubt if it's really gonna be noticeable either way.
