Question about your S&B intakes?

Hi guys. I have a simple question. I'd like to do the S&B because of the filters, sound level and how they use the stock elbow by the turbo.
My question is, can you still get at your oil filter from up top easily. I change my own oil and currently take the intake tube of the stock intake. If you pull that stretch of tubing off the S&B can you still get at the filter easily?
I don't want to have to pull the whole intake box off if necessary. If you can't then how quick can you pop the whole intake setup off?
Thanks a lot for any help.
Ryan.

I have the S&B intake too. Is it easier to change the oil filter from the top? I have never really looked at trying to remove the oil filter from the top. I just always removed the filter from the bottom up (or am I crazy)?

I have the 6.7 intake on my 5.9 and can also do it (change it) easily from the top, but prefer the bottom. lol

I just use a freezer ziploc bag. Unscrew the filter and hold the bag under it while doing it. Filter screws off, drops in the bag along with the extra oil. Pull out the bag, seal it up and your done.
Never get a drop of oil anywhere.
Thanks for the extra input on the intake guys. S&B will be getting ordered on monday.

this may not be everyone's prefference,...
i remove the pass. side inner fender well to gain access to the oil filter. i can loosen it from there then remove it from the bottom. reinstall the new filter from the bottom then tighten from the top.

on that note...found that the A/C hose was making contact with the bottom of the battery box. if not addressed, a hole would have been rubbed through and discharged all refrigerant. then i would have had to take my trk in for a new hose and A/C service. not something i want to do.
so i addressed the rubbing issue,...good to go

Taking the inner fender out to remove your oil filter?
Doesn't that turn a 5 minute job into an hour long job?
I just have a filter wrench that fits onto the end of the filter and loosen with a socket.
Then I used to slip a 1 litre Coke bottle with the top cut off over the filter and unscrew it so the filter and any spilled oil will go into the pop bottle. After a few changes I learned oil never splills out and I skip te bottle routine,

an hour oil change? hmmmm? no. 5 min. oil change? never heard of one.
don't need a old 2 liter bottle neither. no spillage here.

removing the inner fender liner allowed me to find a problem and address it before it turned into a major issue. if you read my earlier post, "you" too may want to "remove" the inner liner and do an inspection. be safe

I get at it from the botom, Loosen the filter just a bit get a long punch and punch a hole in the botom, While its' draining check and rotate tires, check diff and tcase fluids, then unscrew the filter with no mess.

I use a cap wrench and a long 3/8 extension from under the truck to loosen the oil filter. I then slip a large ziplock bag over the filter and spin it off inside the bag. No mess.
