I was thinking about getting one and ditching my bhaf. They're on ebay for 230 and they have the tube running from the turbo to the heatshield where as AFE you have to pay more for the tube. ( stage 2 ) Anyone running one? Also Im in fairly dusty conditions with the truck so Im also worried about keeping dirt out of the engine.

 

I like the S&B routing but would choose the AFE Proguard II filter over any other any day of the week. JMO

 

My boss put one on his 97 and likes it, but he had some fitment issues. He said that when he slipped the filter onto the intake tube, it would hit the ribs that are molded into the tube, not allowing it to slip on far enough so that the hose clamp was outside of the housing. I know a pic would help explain it better, but I don't have one. He ground the ribs down back far enough that he could slip the filter on fruther. He also had problems with the filter rubbing the bottom of the box. He cut out a piece of rubber mudflap for the bottom of the box to cure that. Personally, I think if I don't go with an AFE intake, I might look into either a Volant, or Iceboxmanufacturing box.
