Unhappy Rail Presure Sensor

Last Thursday I wash my truck engine and all, parked it for two days then tried starting it up this morning and got the P0192-Fuel Pressure Sensor Voltage Too Low. After reading through some post I think I got water in it and it fried.
Two questions:
1 - Do yall agree about it being fried?
2 - Where can I get one and how much $$$$$ do they run?

Thanks for the help.

you will have to go right to cummins and get one they are about $235 or so I am on my 3rd one thanks to the quad rail gauge. Now that the gauge is unplugged no more problems.

I had my Quadzilla Xzillaraider, wreck two rail pressure sensors on my truck this past month as well. Dodge wanted $735 for the sensor. My local Cummins dealer sells them for $113.

I noticed you had Quad gauges in your signature. Check your connector when you put the new sensor in. A few rail pressure gauges left Quad missing a seal & i believe they can repair it if needed.

Mine is missing that also I think that is why I have all my problems. when it warms up around here I was going to seal that plug my self with some rtv or something.

The part number for that sencer from cummins is (3949988) but that is for an early 04 I don't think it will make a diff tho cuz I barrowed one off of an 07 and it worked fine but it was a different part # not sure what the diff is.

I would certainly get that sealed before you put another sensor on. There were a few guys with SRT-10 hoods having multiple sensor failures due to moisture coming thru the hood & into the unsealed connector.

yea it took me two sencers to figure that one out. I do not have that rail gauge part pluged in right now till I fix that problem, just the line preasure end of it.

Thanks for the part number I'm going to try to get it locally in the morning. I'll also check those connections and make sure they aren't missing the seals.

On a side note I noticed that if I had the RP gauge and the X2 hooked up at the same time the engine had a little vibration around 1500 rpm. Maybe too many connections. For the last year the X2 has been the only thing pluged into the rail pressure sensor and the RP/FP gauge has been used for FP only.

I picked up a new sensor this morning for less than $190, and now I'm wandering do I need to use any sort of thread sealant on the sensor or just put it in and torque it down?

Once again thanks for the help.

I used nothing on the threads, and just torqued it down. It works just fine.
