Questions about FASS or Air Dog

just got my truck and wound up having a few low pressure fuel pump problems. started looking at upgrade options it but needed some questions answered.

1) if I got an AirDog or FASS would the stock fuel filter and fuel pump need to be removed from the fuel system or bypassed?

2) whats the better of the two for a stock-moderate truck?

3) is there an aftermarket option to upgrade the factory fuel pump and maintain factory location?

thanks

think im going to go with an airdog 100 it will support up to 500 horse power. You can run it to the stock filter and use it to or u can bypass it.I think im going to leave mine in place so if something happens to the airdog i can hook the stock pump back up.

That's proly what ill end up doing too only I may rig a valve in so if the AirDog goes out I can turn back on the stock pump easily and in an emergency.

I might go with the 150 so if I want to do more mods I will have enough fuel pump.I would like to get my truck in the 550 range but not sure how reliable it will be.

I've had only one problem with my AD150 over the last 5 years and AirDog replaced it free of charge....no questions asked. Make sure you send in the warranty card if you do go that route!!!! I plumbed mine in and bypassed the factory jobber.....was glad I did when I had to remove the AD. About 10 minutes downtime and I had the stock pump hooked back up and going again.

I'm about to look into get a new pump as well and was curious about what to go with. My truck and list of mods are in my sig mostly looking for reliability and MPG. Leaning towards airdog or airdogII over the FASS so far but havent really researched them too much yet. I dont plan on getting too crazy with mods later on maybe injectors or bolt on stuff. I am thinking the airdog II 165 and that should cover what I have now and plenty of options later down the road.

You won't notice any gains in mileage......just cleaner fuel. Before you install the pump get yourself a 2 mic Cat 1R-0751 fuel filter. The mouth of it is a tad larger than what AD will supply you with. Spin the Cat filter on and then tighten down the bracket to insure your filter doesn't contact the bracket ears.

But does that filter fit in the AD as a replacement? Or instead on the AD?

You can use it for both. I run it all the time for the better filtration. I'll check my water seperator number this morning. The one I'm running is again, better than what AD supplies.
