I've got the 4 position 140HP Race box and w/ positions 2-4 at idle I get a very inconsistant idle, very rough and the truck vibrates and shakes w/ the roughness. Is this normal? I have not had this w/ other pressure/timing boxes.

 

Did you just buy this an install it?

 

Yes, It's been on for two weeks or so. Other than a rough idle it runs great! Blows the doors of my Banks set up, I'll have to admit.

 

Mine does that too on occassion. Probably once every 2 weeks or so.

 

I'm talking about 100% of the time, we've had some serious weather changes in the last two weeks, and outdoor temp has no affect on it, 30*-75*. I also added the Smarty to the mix to see if more timing made it worse or better, w/ no changes. It's all in the Quad box from levels 2-4. On level 1 it's quiet/consistant as can be. I know there's supposed to be a engine tone/sound change as you adjust, that's not what I'm talking about. I'm talking about a rough inconsistant idle.

 

My standard doesn't do that at all on any setting. Did you check your harness and make sure everything is plugged it completely?

 

I've checked and cleaned all connections, then did it again to be sure.

 

did you buy it new or used. there is a flash sequence that the leds go through when the key is turned on. look at the color sequence, check in your manual that they are the right color sequence for your model and year. then call quad with the module serial number and led color code. i usually talk to roarke, jeremy is great too.

 

Yes, all flashes are correct for my year/model. Everything works great, I'm just uneasy about the idling.

No, it happens all the time, cold and warm. I guess I will call Quad, I just wanted to see if it was normal w/ other users.

 

tcr I am in Astin as well, and run the race box on an 05, and I get a little shudder every now and then, but it is smooth the rest of the time.
