possible boost fitting places...boost bolt?
well i finally ordered some autometer phatom guages and i was wondering where do i mount the boost line on the block for a 24v i have done my dads 12v but he had and easy bolt on the left side of the block to remove in place of the new fittings...i have searched this topic and cant find what im looking for... what i was wondering is instead of ordering a boost bolt can i make one from some bolts and ntp fitting at a local parts store and i do not wnat to drill and tap my intake so if there is any other easy spots with good boost reading please give some advise thanks

Like Megafast said, just get the boost bolt. I drilled and tapped mine, but the bolt is a lot easier and quicker to do, it is already drilled and tapped to accept the fitting for the boost gauge.
Does the boost bolt only go in that one spot where Diesel Manor suggests?

Or can you use it to replace a different intake bolt and still get a boost reading? The spot they suggest is way back there and really cramped up next to the injector bolt. I had to use a short piece of tubing to extend it out because my SPA boost gauge sensor was too big to fit in that spot.

Yes you can use it on any of the bolts, that one just seems central and fairly easy to get to. It is the one I used. I doubt the readings would vary enough to see and would only be vary momentary.

Thanks for the info guys. I guess I should've asked that question before the install.
In hindsight I'm still glad I went through the trouble to install it there because it forced me to use that extension piece. The sensor is electronic and bolting it straight to the almighty Cummins probably isn't the best way to go.

alright thanks for the help guys i was also wondering if that boost bolt was just made from few little bolts that i could get at my parts store..dont really like bothering my parents to order me stuff as i have no visa, so i would just rather go and see if i can rig one together
