Leveling kit question

When installing a leveling kit do you have to drop the axle or can you simply disconnect the shock up top, the 3 nuts on the coil and just jack the frame up to insert the new spacer or is it more difficult than that?

I was going to do it like you were saying, but once we started it seemed much safer to drop the axle one side at a time. Make sure you have a spring compressor and a quality set of jack stands and it will make your life much easier. Took around an hour a side, not too bad.

$125.00, but you want to make sure they put as much castor they can in it, and you will have to specifically tell them this. I paid $145.00 for mine to be alligned but they gave me the spec sheet afterward and made sure it was all 4 corners not just the front end. Rides and drives like a dream now.

can you explain this a little bit better? why is castor and what does it do? and why 4 corners?

Don't let everyone scare you, I put the leveling kit on myself it wasn't that bad to install. And it looks great I had an allignment done by a good garage and I have no problems, it has some to do with what tires you get and air pressure. I got the spedo. calibrated at the dealer for my 315's don't sell it put it on your truck this weekend bud.

They are really easy to put on.. Mine took about 2 hours.. Just put the frame on jack stands, Unbolted the shocks and towers, and the track bar and the brake line bracket and sway bar.. Lowered it one side at a time with a floor jack and put them in.. Mark the springs so they go back in the same position. I also did another truck for a friend with the Kore leveling Springs.. same thing and easy.. Had them aligned (toe was out due to the "Y" steering link.

One thing I did notice is that the sway bar links were bending backwards badly.. when you put in the leveling kit is changes the angle of the sway bar.. I made some 2 1/2" spacers for the front sway bar holders. Make them or buy them.. but it should be done IMHO.

no Issues with death wobble and I also have the BFG AT's which are supposed to be the worst for death wobble.

I just bought some 2.5" Spacers for the front on ebay, Will I need to change anything else. Also would I be able to fit 37" tires with just the 2.5" leveling kit or should I stick to 35"s?

Thanks for the input

From what I understand the 2.5" spacer will give you clearance for 35" tires. Not sure about 37".

You will need more than 2.5 to fit 37's you can do it but you will need longer control arms to push the axle forward about 1" XLRI8r has 37's
