New Custom Twins Are in
Thanks to Tim Barber i've got a new set of CUSTOM twins
We Started out with Tims Prefabed Hot pipe and Cold Pipe, all was going well until my KORE shock towers started getting in the way, so we modified the hot pipe and fabed up a new cold pipe, oil lines and intake, basically we started from scratch, but with Tims Expertise and my good eye for angles we finished the all the fab work and was driving the truck in a weekend,
There is still some polishing and painting to do and some Waste gate lines to replace, but no to bad for a weekend.
We used a HTT HX35/12 Hybrid, BHT3B/26, and a 28mm Tial waste gate,
So far they drive great no noticable differance in lag time, i have'nt run them hard yet TST 5/4 VA on Low just slow acceleration boost limited right now to 45 psi untill i get the turbo's broke in good,
Not to mention the stock clutch is not fairing to well, but a South Bend 3600 12 button is on the way.
this picture is not the greatest, sun was going down.

Rick I cant wait till we get that dual disc in and do some real testing. I am curious to see if the 12cm housing and 38 tial will keep it cool when we turn it all the way up. 3rd gens sure are more work to get everything to fit right, next set I build will be a lot easier though. Let me know when the clutch comes in. Tim

Picture might look a little skewed , but is that tube over your battery? Can the battery be removed without removing the tube? Will the engine torque over enough to ground the batt terminals ?
Looks great, I look at mine and can't imagine how you guys wedge another turbo in there, much less all the huge ducting ...
I sure would like to hear a sound file of some twins spooling...

Asher,
It is tight around the battery, but ther is no way any thing is going to touch any of the terminals
there is more clearance around the positive terminal than it looks.
I might have to pull off the back hose on the cold pipe and roll it up to get the battery out, no big deal, but i have'nt really tried yet.
This is probably one of the reasons some manufacturers chose to go with an enlarged internal waste gate, that extra 2 inches does make it tight.

MAN,,,,,,,,,
How many meals at the joint that serves the wierd food did that take?
Does Tim ever sleep?
Rick,
You have done more mods on your truck in the first year than most of us would do in a lifetime! Have you even had it a year? We really need to get together so you can show that baby off.

Are you running one wastegate or does each turbo have a wastegate? Where did you find a wastegate spring with that high of a psi rating? I am gonna run a 38mm wastgate on my hybrid and the big charger has a wastegate on it too. So 30 lbs on each and I will be ready to go. Just need a 30 lb spring for my 38 mm wastegate.....

Looks good. I gotta see that big shoehorn that Tim came up with. Sorry I missed out on helping this past weekend. Would have loved the intell. Oh well, I am sure I'll get the opportunity. I'll join the twins club eventually. Only 600 miles on the new truck and already I can't stand it being stock.
