I ran into a guy at the gas station with a truck like mine but 39s under it and it was whistling like crazy I started asking questions being nosy I asked if he would pop the hood all I could see was a banks six gun, high ram and factory turbo housing which he said had two turbines installed in it he called it a twin turbo. he said it dynoed at 480hp and 890ftlb . anyone ever heard of this turbo mod and know where i can get some info on it? or is this guy pulling my leg.

Even variable turbos do NOT have more than one wheel per side.

yea sounded kinda strange to me too, I was thinking variable geometry like the fords but that is still just one turbine. but you never know until you ask
I think the guy just had some extra cash and let someone else spend it for him. Maybe I could have sold him a fuel discombobulator for a good price.

I have heard of this type of set up on tractors at the tractor pulls.

Apparently one exhaust vane is for low rpm and one for high. The high rpm exhaust vane over rides the low rpm exhaust vane at a certain rpm allowing instant boost while maintaining top end performance (ie no lag).

i have a buddy who is big into doing modded turbos and works a very reliable diesle shop in cincinatti. i know i speeled that wrong. any ways he has some turbos that has a bigger exhaust housing on them and it essentially spins the exhaust wheel twice and increases efficiance by a ton! or so i am told. these are usually on bigger chargers for tractors and such. he may have had one of these modded on. but that would be big big bucks and not really worth it. my geuss is bs. but the whole twin thing is not totaly outa the question, true twins would be much easier
so its not all so far fetched is all i am getting at. and this is a product of a boring night and looking up old posts. lol
