I had the same as you for mpg but as the miles added up it got better and better.I am around 18 right now empty highway.Last time I towed my 9000lb TT I got 12 mpg,not to bad with the 4:11 gears.I came from a gasser ,so anything above 6 mpg towing was an improvement. I plan on doing mods someday but am gonna wait.I am really happy with performance the way it is. I did put tow mirrors on it ,sweet!!.Next is to add sirius to my Nav radio. Guages are after that.Money is hard to pry from my wifes hands when it comes to my truck.

I have done the three major mods, intake, Juice, and Aeroturbine exhaust. I did them in that order. The exhaust had the most obvious effect on mileage. Went up 2mpg's. I average 18.5-19 at 75mph now. I can get 19-21 on two lane roads at 60-65mph.

It's like the exhaust just free'd up the efficiency and power of the CTD. It is a pleasure to listen to, and definitely a pleasure watching that fuel level needle slow down on its way to empty. It isn't much louder, just throatier sounding.

If I had it to do again, I would have done them in the reverse order.

My mpg's before TSB were 14.5 on Interstate. Had that done around 2500 miles. After TSB mpg's were in the high 16's. They didn't change at all with intake and Juice. My truck is now at 10k miles

I run it in 1/1 almost all the time. I will run it at 3/3 every now and then for fun. The mods are invisible with normal driving habits, but when you get on it, it rocks.

The attitude has shown up to 5% trans slip, but the slip is not noticeable to me. I am wondering if it is the torque converter locking up that is being detected as slippage. I don't feel I have been that hard on it. I have never just floored it. It's hard to say as almost everyone has shown some slippage in the 3-7% range.

If you have two go pedal settings (all on/all off), I gotta think a tranny upgrade is in the future. Only time will tell for me.

I will also tell you that you will get some pinging noise in the 1500-2000rpm range from the timing and duration changes the Juice makes. It only occurs under low load conditions or as your backing off the throttle. I called Edge, and they said that was normal. It just freaked me out the first time I heard it. Edge also told me to experiment with the settings for best mileage. 1/1, 2/1, 3/1. Run a tank at a time under similar driving conditions to determine which setting offers the best mileage.

04.5sam,

We have exactly what you are asking for. It's a performance replacement muffler system from MBRP. It EXACTLY replaces your existing muffler on any of the 2004.5 and newer trucks. It has the welded hangers to snap right into place just like the stock muffler does. It is a smaller version of our MBRP muffler and keeps the sound level low, yet when you floor it you hear a nice deep tone. It is built from T-409 stainless steel just like the stock system so it's a perfect match. For those that want the sound of the bog rig we also have cat test pipes, that are to be used for offroad racing and pulling in 409 stainless steel too!

Mark @ DPPI

Hi, well if your planning on running all that you become your own warranty station with the Juice and Attitude. Sorry to say it but you will get it sooner than later. I have become that and besides once you put an exhaust if a rep from DC is there it will be gone. Just letting you know.

I just finished with Mark's Muffler and Cat test pipe (DPPI)......bugger to get the old stuff apart, and a little loud when you really get into it, but I am very pleased with the results. 20.9 MPG at 67 MPH. Much better than my 2002!

If you go this route, remember to SAVE your CAT as you never know if you may need it again and they are expensive to replace.
